Social Robotics, AI, and Carework
My current multi-sited project explores the impact of robotic technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping our understanding of carework. I examine the racialization and gendering of robotic and AI technologies as technocultural products shaped by colonial histories, capitalism, racism, and patriarchy.
Dis/Placements: A People’s History of Uptown
A collaborative transmedia public history project co-founded with Dr. Gayatri Reddy that traces stories of everyday peoples’ resistance in the wake of urban ‘development” in the northside Chicago neighborhood of Uptown.
Bibingka/Bebinca
This project explores the spatial and temporal configurations of global/local foodways using a dessert, bibingka’s/bebinca’s multivalent culinary trajectories in South and Southeast Asia as the lens through which to do so (in collaboration with Gayatri Reddy).
